As well as helping non-English speaking theatregoers, AirScriptâ„¢ also caters for those with hearing difficulties.
One in seven people in the UK are deaf or hard of hearing (source: RNID). In the past, those with hearing impairments have often been excluded from mainstream performances due to a lack of accessibility and services to suit their needs. Show Translations takes its duty of corporate responsibility very seriously, and wanted to produce a system that could open up theatre performances not only to foreign tourists visiting London, but to those with hearing impairments whose disability means they are currently unable to visit the theatre or are limited to special performance nights.
Unlike existing solutions, AirScriptâ„¢ ensures that each and every performance is accessible to the deaf and hard of hearing.
Theatres will not charge for the use of the devices by the deaf and hard of hearing.
We are keen to receive feedback on AirScriptâ„¢ as an aid for the hearing impaired. Please feel free to contact us to tell us about your experience, any comments, and ways in which we can improve our service.
